Our society is staffed entirely by volunteers. There are no paid employees. Our office is open on  Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. There are always a minimum of two volunteers on hand to help visitors with their genealogical and historical research.

In addition we have volunteers to help with special projects such as our conferences, people who organize, participate, prepare and serve food, and do the heavy lifting of getting a conference produced.

We have relied on volunteers for moving large volumes of books, files and file cabinets, museum items, and all matter of material that has been donated to us. One volunteer who deserves special recognition is M C Edwards. He has built all our bookshelves, entrance counter and desk and other furniture and volunteered his time and materials.

The web site your are visiting right now is designed, constructed and maintained by volunteer effort. The Clay County Ancestral News Magazine is likewise produced and distributed by volunteers.

Obviously we have been busy and the efforts of our volunteers are appreciated. But we can always use more volunteers. If you live near Manchester, boy, do we have a job for you! Or if you live in some far flung, unfortunate place outside Clay County, we could use your typing.

If you would like to volunteer, go to the main menu and click “Contact Us.” Thanks in advance!

Volunteers are our lifeblood!
