Maggie Bowling has spent over 40 years researching Clay County families. Her library and office at her rustic log cabin home near Manchester (which she and her late husband built themselves) is crammed (but neatly organized in bound volumes and CDs) with marriage records, census and tax records, obituaries, cemetery lists, family charts, and countless other resource documents gleaned from her extensive microfilm collection, books, magazines, and thousands of pages of documents copied from the Clay County Clerk’s office. The books on this page are the result of part of Maggie’s tireless efforts, but there are many more to come. Maggie is a vice president of the Clay County Genealogical and Historical Society.
